The latest meeting of the Ship Operations Cooperative Program (SOCP) boasted 70 members and guests in attendance. The meeting was held at the Massachusetts Maritime Academy on July 11-12. This meeting included open discussions on the hot-button issue of short sea shipping as a means to improve the performance of the national transportation system. RADM Robert D. Reilly Jr., United States Navy, Commander Military Sealift Command was the keynote speaker. The next meeting will be held in November at the MITAGS facility in Linthicum Heights, MD. The exact date has not yet been announced.
