Is this thread voore only? Because i got me first ILX email today:I will be so fucking pissed if they reissue Super Roots 4 (edition of 3).
The only people who are known to possess one are myself, Kim Gordon, and Sadaharu Oh.- jinx hijinks (webmail), April 10th, 2006 8:23 PM. (sanskrit) (link)brendonto meMore options 11:57 pm (8 hours ago)i'm a huge boredoms fan and i'd love to hear super roots 4 there's no way you'd be willing to copy that or let me hear a track would you?at the very least it'd be nice to describe it in detailThis email was sent by brendon (isubj@hotmail.com), a user of ilXor.com. Looks like reissues and deitch is a go. I might see them in london, but maybe not.- Forwarded message -From: (adam@vice-recordings.com)To: (phillips@pitchforkmedia.com), (kathryn@biz3.net), (ben@biz3.net)Date: Fri, 12 May 2006 15:36:21 -0400Subject: Re: BoredomsSo here's the email dialogue from over a month ago. Not sure who Ryan is.I answered him honestly: we're hoping to do reissues, but there will not be a box set (as tinymixtapes) reported.Since then we confirmed we will reissue 5 titles separately. The Pitchfork story was 100% correct.- Forwarded MessageFrom: (adam@vice-recordings.com)Date: Mon, 10 Apr 2006 15:43:14 -0400To: ryan (fastyouth81@yahoo.com)Subject: Re: boredoms box-setHi Ryan-This is not true at all, I don't know where they got this information from. We are discussing re-releasing some of the Super Roots records in the US, but nothing has been confirmed, and there will not be a box set.

That will wait until Super Roots 10, whenever that will be.Thanks for the info on Yamamoto- very appreciated.Adam. Deitch Projects is pleased to announce 77 DRUM, a staggering 77-drum kit installation by Boredoms. For this exhibition, opening 7/7, the four band members will be filling 18 Wooster Street with 77 drum kits, which they will be using both as artwork, architecture, and principally for activation. Rivers of cymbals and mountains of drums flank the centerpiece of the show: a circular platform on which the band Boredoms will play and unprecedented two free live shows. Filling out the exhibition will be contributions by Hisham Bharoocha, Tomo Gokita, Naohiro Ukawa, and Seigo Fukuda.
Not 100% sure but i think Ions is the guy that tunes the Sevena.?Boredoms in Osaka last week was unbelievably good - started off with Yoshimi & 2 other drummers (both new) playing a super slow beat - then all of a sudden someone starts drumming at the back of the venue: it's Yojiro being carried to the stage on a bamboo platform. They did Acid Police with all 4 drummers and a guitarist lasted at least 20 minutes. There was also so much new stuff they i don't think they've played at the recent US shows, and the whole thing felt somehow a little looser.

(tho obv not quite the right word).
Boredoms formed in Osaka in 1986. At the band's mid-90's peak, they were on a US major label, collaborated with Sonic Youth and Ween, and played Lollapalooza at the request of Kurt Cobain. Boredoms began to explore psychedelia and Krautrock at the end of the 90's. Vision Creation Newsun consists of nine hypnotic tracks that build and fade, with symbols for song titles (kinda like Hairway To Steven). There is also a Vision Creation Newsun EP, a box set, and a four volume series of Vision Creation Newsun remix albums called Rebore, featuring UNKLE and other DJ's reconstructing the album.
Jack bondThank you! There is a band called DMBQ who are quite interesting. Also a band called Murahachibu who are IMO amazing.

Very raw with a Stones/Stooges thing going on. I don't think there is much material by them around.

I have the live album which is one of my favourite albums.A few years ago there was a website run by a young (dutch?) guy who was obsessed with Japanese rock and posted so much. Unfortunately he died. I remember his parents kept the website going (not updated though) as a tribute to him. I don't remember his name or the name of the site I'm ashamed to say.
